Cedar Canyon Junction has been created by using inspiration gained by the owners many photography trips to the Western United States. This N scale layout is based on modern times somewhere in the golden state of California.

Both the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railroad, and the Union Pacific Railroad have running rights at Cedar Canyon Junction so a wide variety of motive power and freight trains can be seen – as well as Amtrak long distance trains. Union Pacific houses a locomotive repair and re-fuelling facility at Cedar Canyon Junction along with various other line side industries and a railroad station.

The mountain scenery on the layout is to be credited to Doug Richards. Rolling stock is from Atlas/Kato and many Walthers kits have been used to try and give the feel of the American railroad scene.
