Welcome to our minature world…

With one week to go to our exhibition the pace is hotting up, all Layouts, Traders and Societies have been booked. Unfortunately two layout previouslys booked, namely “Penna Lane TMD” and “Elmfield” and one trader, “Ray Morris” have had to pull out due to health issues within their team.

We have had to make a few pre-emptive decisions just in case the show is cancelled, one of these means that we will not be producing an exhibition guide this year. The guide takes many weeks to collate the articles, adverts and photos before being sent to the printers and of course it costs a lot of money. If we had done all that work and spent a great deal of money getting the guide printed ready for the show and the show was cancelled then the printed copies would be of no use other than for re-cycling.

We have produced a simplified double sided A4 floor plan/stand list which will be available at the pay desk.

The demonstration stand will be re-positioned into the Channel Suite, taking the place of the Lower Information Stand, this will help us with manning of the show as we can concentrate our limited membership (and other volunteers) on other duties within the show. We have also added a G Scale demonstration to replace “Penna Lane TMD” which had to pull out (Stand 43).

We will not be running the best layout competition this year either, it takes a lot of additional time to check and count (and sometimes interpret) the completed forms, time which I need to devote to the running of the show which may well be more complicated this year.

Bachmann will not be attending this year, although originally booked for 2020 and transferred to 2021 they have decided to only attend two show in 2021, Invicta Model Rail will be returning to us this year and we offer them a warm welcome back.

The biggest change this year is the location of the pay desk. Normally this would be located down the first set of stairs once inside the building. For 2021 we have re-located this to the foyer. We will also be introducing a queue system leading from the underground car park. If you arrive at the main entrance of the LCH stewards will re-direct you across the road to a set of steps which leads to the underground walkway, this leads from the underground car park (entrance is located in Sandgate Road) to the foyer of  the Leas Cliff Hall. We have direction sign posts in various places. You can leave the hall via the steps from the foyer to the main entrance but re-entry is again via the underground walkway. If you wish to re-enter later, don’t forget to get your hand stamped before you leave!!

If you are using a wheelchair/mobility scooter the preferred method entry method is again via the walkway from the underground car park to the pay desk in the foyer, if you do arrive at the main Leas Cliff Hall building (shown below) then please make yourself known to a steward at the top of the stairs who will assist you further.
